Health and Safety

We are pleased to say that Robinsons have now been back work and fully operational since we resumed removals at the beginning of June. Robinsons have now put into place a new working system for our staff and customers in order to minimise the risk to individual's health and safety.

Everyone should follow current government guidelines which includes social distancing measures, wearing masks where required and repeated hand washing in order to minimise the risks for all concerned.

The British Association of Removers (BAR), have published guidelines for its members, setting out a Best Practice Procedure (BPP) to ensure a thorough level of safety for both customers and removal teams alike.

The BPP includes a COVID risk assessment, daily temperature checks, use of PPE, the issuing of personal hand sanitisers and social distancing for the removal teams and customers.

Home surveys

We are continuing to provide a personal survey service by our Estimator, for anyone looking to obtain a quotation for their move.

Some companies use video technology through a virtual visit, but we find that there is nothing like being able to actually see the items to be moved and to be able to discuss our customers requirements on a personal level.

With that in mind, to ensure that our Estimator and customers are as safe as possible, there are some requirements that need to be adhered to prior to the visit and these will be explained at the time of any booking.

Please note that our Estimator will not enter your home unless you are wearing a face mask or a face covering.

Removals and Storage

Even as we emerged from the first lockdown, scientists were learning more about COVID-19 all the time. Many people predicted a second wave, which is what is happening now. With a second lockdown in November, Robinsons are still trading and we will continue to plan for moves in advance to the best of our ability, as we cannot predict how severe the situation may become in the future.

Robinsons will be carrying out removals for all our customers until such time as the government may state that it is unsafe to do so.

Our staff are all equipped with PPE and are instructed on the necessity of social distancing from customers. With every quotation, all our customers are given advice on how to prepare for their move.

With this in mind, here are some key points to adhere to

- No work should be carried out by a person who has coronavirus symptoms, however mild.
- No work should be carried out in the property of someone who is self-isolating or has coronavirus symptoms.
- We would encourage customers to try to do as much of the packing themselves if possible. If assistance is required, please speak with our Estimator
- We would encourage our customers to please clean their belongings as much as possible, before asking the removals team to handle them.
- Whilst our crew are in a customer's home, we would ask that all internal doors are kept open (and windows too, where possible, in order to maximise ventilation)
- To minimise contact with the removal team, maintaining a distance of at least 2 metres where possible.
- We would request that no pets (especially dogs) are free to roam around the house during the move.
- No other trades people to be in the property(s) during the move process.
- Our staff will provide their own kettle and refreshments
- However, we would request that our removal teams have access to a handwashing and toilet facility and if possible, their own dedicated areas

Visiting our office

Under current guidelines (as from Friday 24^th July) we would request that any customers who need to enter into the office area wear a face covering, use the hand sanitiser provided and keep their distance.
